Clara Cheung is in the Top 50 Women in Engineering 2023

Each year when choosing the theme for the Top 50 Women in Engineering Awards and International Women in Engineering Day, the Women's Engineering Society strive to ensure that it is as diverse and inspiring as possible. That’s why in 2023 the theme was Safety and Security, which encompasses everything from food security to cyber safety through to defence and fire protection.

These amazing women work to keep us safe wherever we are whether at work or leisure, at home or online.

Dr Clara Cheung has made remarkable contributions to occupational safety and health (OSH) in construction. She developed a multi-disciplinary approach to design innovative and practical solutions for complex OSH problems, and her work during the pandemic earned her team an innovation award for reducing COVID-19 transmission risks on construction sites.
